How it works

1. Tell us what you need

Complete the short form above. There is no obligation to proceed at any point.

2. We match your enquiry

We pass your details to an FCA-authorised health insurance broker whose panel suits your requirements.

3. You get advice and a quote

The broker compares the insurers available to them, explains the exclusions, and quotes on cover that fits.

What medical insurance is for

The purpose of medical insurance is to remove the cost barrier to private treatment. Instead of paying several thousand pounds for a procedure, you pay a premium and the insurer funds eligible care up to the limits you have chosen. The trade-off is that the insurer defines what counts as eligible, and that definition is what you should read carefully.

Medical insurance versus other health products

  • Medical insurance pays for private treatment of new conditions.
  • Health cash plans refund small, everyday health costs.
  • Critical illness cover pays a lump sum on diagnosis of a listed condition; it does not pay for treatment.
  • Income protection replaces part of your income if illness stops you working.

Getting an accurate quote

Quotes are only as accurate as the information behind them. Give your correct date of birth, postcode and smoker status, and be candid about medical history when the broker asks. Under-declaring keeps the quote low and risks the claim being refused later — the insurer relies entirely on what you disclose.

Usually within scope

  • Specialist consultations and diagnostic tests, subject to module and limits
  • Day-case and in-patient surgery in a private hospital
  • Cancer treatment at your chosen level of cover
  • Optional mental health and therapies cover

Usually outside scope

  • • Anything relating to a pre-existing condition
  • • Long-term management of chronic illness
  • • Emergency treatment and ambulance callouts
  • • Self-inflicted injury, and treatment outside the policy territory

Cover, limits and exclusions vary between insurers and policies. Your broker will confirm exactly what is and is not covered before you buy.
